my work in

graphic design

Visual storytelling is at the heart of effective brand communication, and I specialize in creating eye-catching, strategic graphics that elevate digital presence. Using Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign, I design content that enhances brand identity and engages audiences across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube (video graphics and thumbnails), and blog headers.

I have created designs for Sweet LaLa’s Bakery, Women’s Elite Rugby, PRSSA National, PRSSA Memphis Chapter, and various class-oriented business projects, tailoring content to meet different audience needs. My work includes social media campaigns, promotional materials, and blog content, all developed with a focus on branding consistency and visual impact.

Beyond client work, I have developed branding suites for my personal brand, Ro Lane Media, and a theoretical brand, Honeysuckle!, showcased in a class branding project. Each design reflects attention to detail, audience awareness, and a deep understanding of digital aesthetics.

design for social media

I have designed social media content for a diverse range of brands, each with unique identities, audiences, and platform needs. From professional organizations to local businesses and national brands, my work balances creativity with strategic brand alignment. I have experience designing for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube (including video graphics and thumbnails), as well as blog headers and templates.

My approach is rooted in understanding each brand’s distinct visual identity and audience. For PRSSA National and PRSSA Memphis, I created graphics for events, blog headers, and YouTube thumbnails, ensuring consistency across platforms. For Sweet LaLa’s Bakery, I developed a cohesive and modernized brand aesthetic to appeal to younger audiences while maintaining its welcoming, community-driven feel. With Women’s Elite Rugby, I contributed to a league-wide content strategy, designing graphics that differentiated the six teams while maintaining a unified brand presence.

Additionally, I have designed conceptual social media content as part of creative briefs, including projects for Hydroflask, Broad Avenue Arts District, Canva, and The Try Guys—each requiring research into brand style and tone, original writing, and visual storytelling. A class-based project for Stax Music Academy involved content audits and recommendations to enhance brand engagement and social media performance, alongside designing strategic Instagram content.

I am proficient in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign, using these tools to create content that is not only visually compelling but also tailored for audience engagement and platform optimization.

design for print and branding

My work in print and branding design combines creativity, strategy, and a deep understanding of brand identity. From event promotions to logo redesigns, I have developed a range of projects that emphasize clear messaging, strong visual appeal, and alignment with brand aesthetics. Each of these projects showcases my ability to adapt to different brands and design needs, ensuring that visuals not only stand out but also effectively communicate their intended message.

Event & Promotional Materials

ICON Food and Drink Guide: Designed to be vibrant and artistic while maintaining readability. Colors directly pulled from event branding to maintain cohesiveness. Designed with priority of ease of use and legibility, giving suggestions of restaurants and nightlife options for those new to Nashville.

Malco Theatres Logo Redesign: Retained elements of the original logo, such as the typeface and color scheme, while modernizing its look. Integrated a film reel into the ‘O’ as a visual cue to the brand’s core identity. Supplemented with a clean, modern sans-serif font, ensuring the redesigned logo remains versatile across digital and print media.

Hustle & Flow Step Brochure: Created a dynamic Z-fold brochure for Memphis River Parks Partnership’s public workout series. Pulled colors directly from the brand’s social media to maintain consistency. The front page was designed to grab attention with a bold, simple layout, while the inside pages used energetic design elements to convey movement and community engagement.

Brand Identity & Logo Design

Honeysuckle! Conceptual Branding: Developed a full brand identity for a conceptual coffee shop and wine bar, including a brand book, merchandise, and packaging. The goal was to create a warm yet sophisticated aesthetic that reflects the dual nature of the business.

Personal Branding: Designed a personal brand book featuring business cards, resumes, and letterheads. Focused on balancing creativity with professionalism, ensuring the brand reflects my skills and personality in a polished, cohesive manner.

Tiger & Peacock Ad: Designed a one-page magazine ad for this upscale bar at The Memphis Hotel. Emphasized its themes of curiosity and luxury by keeping the design minimalistic, allowing the imagery and typography to convey the brand’s mystique. Inspired by high-end editorial advertising, the ad encourages viewers to explore the brand further.

Magazine & Print Advertising

Old Dominick Distillery Ad: Created a refined and compelling ad that aligns with the brand’s identity, focusing on heritage and craftsmanship while appealing to a modern audience.
